WHAT
concept
This project is a response to how overly serious and self-conscious fashion has become everyone chasing the next groundbreaking idea. At its core, fashion is about expression and joy. It's meant to make you feel good, not overthought.
Here, I play with perception. We often subconsciously place people into categories based on what they wear it feels "obvious." This project flips that instinct on its head by pairing visuals that scream one thing with text that says the exact opposite. It’s a playful contradiction: a way to poke fun at assumptions and remind us not to take fashion or ourselves too seriously.
Silhouette and fabric
The silhouettes in this collection draw from shirts typically seen as office attire, think crisp cotton poplin formal shirts. The idea of being "corporate appropriate" is where fashion often feels the most rigid, and that’s exactly where I wanted to play. Using these classic staples as a base, I introduced a layer of fun through unexpected graphics.
